Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory RPG Session
Time: 1pm - 5pm
‘The Impossible Choice’
It is the 31st millenium, and the darkness of old night is at an end. The tumultuous storms in the Empyrean sea have calmed after raging for decades, and can finally be navigated and traversed by space going vessels. Under the leadership of the God-like Emperor of mankind and armed with his vision of the secular truth, Humanity’s forces have set off into the stars to reunite the disparate colonies of mankind after millennia of isolation.
But the galaxy is a hostile place. Foul Xenos species of all shapes and sizes plague the expeditionary fleets and seek to destroy what the humans build. Some of the colonies do not accept the truth of the imperium of mankind and stand against them rather than welcoming with open arms; amongst the populaces of humanity lurks the gravest threat: the Dark Gods of Chaos. Jealous of the Emperor’s great work, their cults work in secret to erode law and order and summon daemonic forces from beyond space and time to do so.
The Emperor’s solution – the legions of the Adeptus Astartes.
Genetically enhanced superhuman soldiers wearing advanced armour and wielding the deadliest weapons in humanity's vast arsenal; each of these mighty warriors is an epic hero in his own right, and they know no fear.
At the head of these mighty legions are the 20 Primarchs. The Emperor’s engineered sons, these demi-Gods are as far removed from an Astartes warrior as that Astartes warrior is from a baseline human. Foremost amongst these mighty heroes is Horus Lupercal, Primarch of the newly renamed Sons of Horus legion and Warmaster of the Imperium now the Emperor has retired from his crusade amongst the stars.
But all is not as it seems within the crusading forces of Mankind. Discontent and resentment builts slowly, stoked by the Chaplains of the Word Bearers legion who have already turned to worship of the Dark Gods. Through a network of secretive fraternal brotherhoods and warrior lodges, rebels win over brother Astartes to their cause and spread dissent.
A time will come where all warriors of the Astartes must choose between their sworn oaths to the Emperor and their loyalty to their Warmaster.
That time is now.
